Style
Generally expressive, expressive landscapes, lights, and heavenly phenomena and states, spatial depth, and infinity.
After graduating from the university, he made copper engravings and other graphic works. He, was a
member of the Romanian Artists’ Association. Individual exhibitions in Cluj-Napoca, Csíkszereda,
regular participation in group exhibitions in Csíkszereda and abroad (e.g. Ferrara 1984), making large
wooden sculptures for church orders (Gyergyóremete, Gyimesközéplok). He painted oil paintings in
Hungary. Individual exhibitions: Fertőd, Fertőhomok, Nagycenk, Sopron, regular performances at the
Autumn Exhibitions. In 2002 he painted a series of portraits of Transylvanian chieftains, which were
exhibited several times in Hungary and abroad. About this series a book was established by Elek Csetri and Béla Szabó: The Portrait-Hall of the Chieftains of Transylvania. On 5 January 2005, Béla Szabó died of a serious illness in Sopron.
