An important and at the same time fascinating central element of the works of Kovács-Gombos is the brilliant, glittering, flowing light from the sky, which is directed at the audience of the painting and is faithfully represented in his works. He lives and works in Sopron and Budapest. Graduated from the University of Educational Theory in Pécs in 1978 and from the Hungarian University of Applied Arts in 2001. He did his doctorate in the field of contemporary sacred art. In 2009 he received his PhD (DLA) from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts. He is a member of the Association of Hungarian Fine and Applied Artists and the National Association of Hungarian Artists. In 1994 he studied at the Szent Gellért Theological College in Budapest. As a visual artist, he is concerned with creating a new, modern sacred art style and often combines his exhibitions with public lectures, performances, publications, television and radio appearances. From 2005 he supports his wife’s gallery, Lívia Scheffer’s gallery. Several dozen solo exhibitions have opened from his artworks.
